With the unprecedented challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 was a year like no other. Check out the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority’s just-released annual report video that documents our collaboration, innovation and impact through the year.

Appropriately titled “2020: Rising to the Challenge,” the annual report highlights how the FCEDA collaborated with the Fairfax County government, as well as many other partners, to move forward together and introduce new initiatives.

Watching the video only takes a few minutes, but there’s a lot to see. It details how the FCEDA and many partners pivoted and collaborated to help local businesses bridge the pandemic through outreach, technical assistance and events.

In addition, the video focuses on the FCEDA’s initiatives in 2020, which included telling the stories of area pandemic heroes nationally through media relations; launching a robust talent initiative that connected thousands of job seekers nationwide with Fairfax County’s hiring employers; and working with nearly 150 businesses that announced the creation of 11,000 jobs in the county.

“The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority is proud to release this video annual report,” said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the FCEDA. “It encapsulates the many initiatives that FCEDA has spearheaded to help Fairfax County companies mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19, including a new talent initiative that is connecting job-seekers with thousands of open jobs in Northern Virginia.”

It is fitting that the FCEDA’s annual report is presented in a fresh and innovative way — in a video format for the first time. We hope you enjoy the content and format of the report and that it leaves you with a good idea of the impact the FCEDA achieved for Fairfax County and Northern Virginia in 2020.

SecureTech360 to expand in Fairfax County, create 10 new jobs

Gov. Ralph Northam announced that SecureTech360 LLC, a small, woman-owned and minority-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned cybersecurity and information technology consulting firm, will invest $155,000 to expand in Fairfax County and create 10 new jobs.

SecureTech360 will build its presence in the healthcare IT and cybersecurity field to provide secure, scalable, and equitable healthcare solutions and products. Its new service offerings will provide clients with patient-centric IP enabled healthcare, pharmaceutical, and ancillary services, powered by green technologies and cybersecurity.

The company is based at 6564 Loisdale Road in Springfield (Lee District) of Fairfax County. It is focusing on building a bridge between individuals from marginalized communities and provide access to opportunities in the healthcare IT and cybersecurity industry through innovation and training, said Principal CEO Quiana Gainey.

“I am delighted to see that Springfield and the Lee District have the kind of assets that SecureTech360 needs to grow and succeed, and I applaud the company for its emphasis on linking IT job opportunities with residents of marginalized communities,” said Fairfax County Supervisor Rodney L. Lusk (Lee District).
