Cassie Hartogs

Cassie Hartogs is Tax Office Managing Partner (OMP) of BDO’s Greater Washington, DC
office. In her current role, she manages over 100 tax professionals and is responsible for
leading the tax practice in operations, strategy, recruiting, business development and
professional development. Though her role focuses on leading BDO’s third largest tax
practice, Cassie is deeply committed to her team, clients and community.

Cassie has more than 25 years of experience providing diversified strategic tax planning,
tax compliance, and examination services. She has managed numerous multi-entity tax
engagements for both large and small S-Corporations, C-Corporations and partnerships,
as well as individual clients. Cassie’s particular areas of expertise include; S-Corporation
tax planning and consulting, including multi-state issues; mergers and acquisitions
primarily in government contract industries; overall strategic tax planning and advisory
services.

In addition to her responsibilities as OMP, Cassie is co-chair of BDO’s Women’s Inclusion
which aims to create an environment in which both men and women can thrive, reach
their potential and contribute to the success of BDO. In this role, she co-manages the
program to make sure it meets its goals and positively impacts the firm and its people.

To recognize Cassie’s dedication to BDO’s core purpose and values, and for exemplifying
technical rigor while providing exceptional client service, she was awarded BDO’s
prestigious 2019 Seidman Neuhausen award.
